Bringing some water bottles was one of my best ideas for this trip.
This morning I boarded my first train from Copenhagen to Gothenburg. This is quite an experience. I just have to figure out how to pack smarter.
I arrived in Copenhagen around 3:30 pm and took a Metro train from the airport to the central part of Copenhagen.
I checked into my hotel and caught up on a little sleep. I must say that that trip from Austin to Copenhagen via London Gatwick took a lot out of me.
Here are a few photos of my hotel and Central Station.
I made it to London Gatwick. Now I have to wait 4 hours for my flight to Copenhagen.
It’s a busy place for a Sunday morning.
Waiting for my flight from Austin to London Gatwick to board in an hour and a half. Then I will be on the first leg of my trip to Copenhagen.
Fifty years ago today, I sat with my Grandpa Rose in French Lick, Indiana and watched Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin land on the moon. It was an amazing experience!
I remember keeping my eyes focused on the black and white TV picture as Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon. I will never forget seeing Walter Cronkite’s eyes tear up with great respect and admiration for the United States having achieved the greatest feat ever taken on by mankind.
It seems very ironic that today, fifty years later, I embark on one of the greatest journeys of my life. Tomorrow I will set foot in Denmark for the very first time.
If your eyes tear up from pictures I post in the same way Walter Cronkite’s eyes teared up, I will know that I have really achieved something great.
I know it’s crazy – I go to Austin, Texas to have a California pizza.
It’s been a while since I have posted anything here, but I’m getting ready for a trip to Europe that will take me along the following train routes.
The fun will begin this weekend and I will try to keep everyone up to speed of what I am doing.
Here’s a postcard just for you all the way from Kralendyjk, Bonaire!
Jewel of the Seas stopped in Labadee, Haiti for the day yesterday.
